Kaffee am Meer, nice café in Bergmannkiez

am mehr2After a bad lunch experience in a “restaurant” close by (don’t go to Markt Wirtschaft at Marheineke Markthalle, expensive, small portions, not tasty), we decided to treat us with a nice dessert.

Kaffee am See on Bergmannstraße is very cosy, we first had a look at their amazingly looking cakes but ended up having some waffles with hot cherries. Those were delicious. The menu, mostly breakfast or snacks or mixed plates, seems very appealing, we saw some tellers pass by that looked tasty.
The staff is very friendly and it’s not too expensive. We were really happy with our choice. It definetely looks like a great place for breakfast or coffee and cake.

Anna Blume, lovely brunch in Prenzlauer Berg

Anna (1)Anna Blume is a flower shop and a café in Prenzlauer Berg, not too far away from Kulturbrauerei. I have heard so many good things about this place and have been meaning to go for a while. So I went there for a sunny Sunday Brunch, we had to wait a bit to be seated on the lovely terrace but it was worth the wait.

The staff is very friendly and the menu very appetizing. Their raspbery milkshake was very good. I had the Alpenrose plate, with cheese, hams and lots of fruits, great, my friend who had the Anemone was happy with his salmon and shrimps and stuffs. 2 of my friends had one of their speciality, a breakfast composition with a beautiful presentation on a “plate tree” with several tiers. Some also tried their cakes which are apparently very good.

Warschauer Pakt

warschauer pakt (1)I recently attended a seminar very close to S Warschauer Straße, our “lunch” break was at 11:15 a.m., so I went a couple of times to Warschauer Pakt, a nice café nearby, for a big breakfast.

The staff is very friendly, the place is kinda cosy, I had the breakfast plate with cold cuts and cheese, it was very nice, as well as the Bauernfrühstück (omelett with bacon, potatoes and onions). Their home made cookies are also a hit.

Schoenbrunn, park restaurant in a beautiful setting

schonbrunn (1)By nice weather I like to go to Vollspark Friedrischain and sit at the Schoenbrunn restaurant for a nice meal or drink under the sun. The waiter is extremly friendly, the setting is delightful, in the heart of the big park, the food is good, the prices not too high.

I recently tried their plate with Austrian cheese and cold cuts, it was really tasty and, even though it’s listed in the starters, can be a real meal for one person, after that I wasn’t hungry till diner. They also have a nice breakfast menu available from 10:00 to 14:00. Very hard to choose from.

Chipps, yummy breakfast in Mitte

chipps (1)I recently went to Chipps for a late breakfast and it was great. It is located on Jägerstraße, very close to U Hausvogteiplatz station. I had a hard time choosing what to have, some much choice, good thing for non meat eaters: you can choose your bacon and sausages to be meat or vegan, whether omnivore, vegetarian or vegan, you should find something to your taste.

I ended up having the Lumber Jack: French toasts, scramble eggs and bacon, comes with maple syrup but I had without. French toasts were quite nice, eggs very good and (meat) bacon crispy and tasty. Everyone of us was satisfied, and we plan to go back to try other stuffs.

Place is cosy, staff is friendly, service quite fast and prices are OK for Mitte.

Prova, Tivat, Montenegro

IMG_1703As I was walking along the sea by the city beach, I saw this nice boat shaped restaurant, actually recommanded by my Lonely Planet guide, and decided to give it a try.

There’s a great sea view, nice inside, lovely terrace, excellent service. I sat inside because ot the rain, thanks to the big windows, I still could enjoy the view.
I had a nice breakfast experience there, it was so delicious and a huge portion so I could not finish it. Also had a very good cocktail, the waiter was very attentive, loved that place.

Nalu Diner

IMG_1090I have been hearing about Nalu for a while, especially from people coming from the US. I’ve heard their breakfast was a hit. So far, I’ve been there only for dinner and it was great. Super service, they bring you a glass of water when you arrive, free refill for coffee and home made limonade/icedtea/icedcoffee. They serve breakfast all day long, one of my friend had a pancake plate and liked it a lot. I had a cheeseburger with extra bacon and fries instead of chips. It was really tasty, loved it! The milkshake I had was also very good. Burgers come in a small and cute plastic basket. Service is great, staff friendly, nice atmosphere, I do have to go back to try the breakfast and other stuffs.

EDIT: I later went for breakfast, had a plate with delicious pancakes, tasty scramble eggs and crispy bacon, it’s def woth it as well. 🙂
