La Mia Terra, Foetz, Luxemburg

5315ecf160d3fEverytime I go to France, I fly either to Saarbrücken or Luxemburg, my parents pick me up and we usually go eat somewhere and do some shopping in the area.

For Christmas, I flew to Luxemburg and we went directly to Foetz to have a nice lunch before doing some shopping.

My parents really like La Mia Terra and go there almost everytime they’re in Foetz. I had a beef filet with a 4 cheeses sauce, delicious, the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. Fries were nice too, meat comes with salad and vegetable too. Pizzas look pretty nice and are indeed great according to my mom, all fish and meats are tasty. For dessert, I had profiteroles, too much but sooooo good.
Staff is very friendly and service not too long, nice atmosphere.

Bergendahls, fondues and more

bergendhals (2)By now you might have noticed I LOVE cheese and fondue, so when I saw an advertisement for Bergendahls, a Swiss restaurant specialised in fondues which I didn’t know yet, I HAD to have a closer look. The website makes a good impression, they have few reviews but they’re all good, so why not try it out?

That’s why yesterday, after a 1 hour trip, I sat in this cute Lichterfelde restaurant, hungry, curious and excited. The place is located only a few steps away from the S-Bahn  station Lichterfelde West, you’ll be warmly welcomed, the restaurant is cosy, the atmosphere is very nice, the staff is very friendly, there’s even a space for kids to draw and a fire burns in the center of the room. First impression is positive.

bergendhals (3)I started with a nice rhum cocktail: white rhum, lemon juice, grenadine and sugar. Very nice! Of course, I couldn’t resist the call of the classical cheese fondue! It was very tasty, though a bit thick but still very good. It comes in small individual pots and with a glass of Kirschwasser (cherry spirit), perfect to help digest after the cheese overdose. The other cheese fondues weren’t that appealling to me because of some ingredients I don’t like, but everyone was happy. One of the guest had the burger and it was good, fries being also tasty. I long hesitated to get a dessert, I was very tempted to get the chocolate fondue but I was too full and it would have gone to waste. Some of us did get the other desserts offered and seemed to be quite satisfied.

The service was very good, waiting time was not too long, the prices are a bit high, though not overpriced. All in all a very nice place, the long trip was really worth it!

Chicago Williams BBQ

IMG_2469I often had heard of Chicago Williams BBQ and always wanted to try it, so when the opportunity to go showed up, I did not pass.

It’s located in Mitte, a few steps away from U Oranienburger Tor station. The place is very nice, the staff is very friendly and gives good advices, in German or English. I was really looking forward to try the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, but it was sold out when we got there, so I tried their pastrami, something I had never tried before, and it was pretty good. I had some mac and cheese on the side, also quite tasty. Portions are huge. Some of my friends got the ribs, I tried and they’re really good as well. Those who got the bbq chicken, the pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw were also very happy.
They also have nice frozen drinks, I tried their rhum and white coke one, really interesting.

To make it short, a place worth a visit and I do intend to go back there to try other stuffs.

Prova, Tivat, Montenegro

IMG_1703As I was walking along the sea by the city beach, I saw this nice boat shaped restaurant, actually recommanded by my Lonely Planet guide, and decided to give it a try.

There’s a great sea view, nice inside, lovely terrace, excellent service. I sat inside because ot the rain, thanks to the big windows, I still could enjoy the view.
I had a nice breakfast experience there, it was so delicious and a huge portion so I could not finish it. Also had a very good cocktail, the waiter was very attentive, loved that place.

Rosati, great Italian by the Deutsche Oper

IMG_2467I went to Rosati because it was conveniently located opposite of Deutsche Oper and I was about to see an opera.
The place is very charming, the friendly staff welcomes you warmly in Italian. We only tried the pizzas even if the whole menu seemed to be very interesting. Waiting time was totally ok, and the pizza is a real italian pizza, very tasty with thin crust. A delight!
