I was born and grew up in Metz, my parents still live there, lots of my friends are still in the area, so I go there 2/3 times a year, and there’s a place I like to go for a nice dinner: Canada’Venture in the old town, close to the cathedrale and across the river from the theater, there’s actually a nice small wooden bridge between Place de la Comédie and Rue des Roches (the street where the restaurant is).
This place has been open like forever, the staff is very friendly, the food, Canadian, is excellent. I really like their caribou, buffalo or smoked beef. For dessert, I almost always go for the “French” pancakes : pancakes with hot chocolate sauce. They also have lots of dishes for salmon lover, different kind of Canadian drinks, including Canadian whisky. Unfortunately for our vegetarian friends, there are only dishes with meat or fish. The prices are ok, the decoration kind of kitsch but nice.
