The CabSlam is defenitely my favourite place for breakfast/brunch in Berlin. It’s located in Neukölln, 10-15 min walking from S Treptower Park (from where you can get a bus to get closer), along a canal, when the sun is out, eating outside can be very nice I guess.
The inside is very simple, some would say it looks unfinished, and that’s what makes its charm also. The staff is very friendly, often asking you if every thing is ok, but not too much so you don’t get annoyed. I can highly recommend to book, especially for big groups, it can get pretty packed.
And the food? Well, they just do the best pancakes I ever had! Very fluffy, a nice stack of 3 that will fill your belly. Either with blueberry or bananas & nuts, I don’t like blueberries so I always take the banana ones, so delicious! It comes with a pot of maple syrup but I just leave it aside since it’s too sweet for my taste. I also love the egg plate, with fried eggs laid by a chicken called Torsten (I thought only hens laid eggs, not chicken, but I’m open-minded so I don’t mind), bacon (or turkey spicy sausages but I love bacon), toasts, butter, mini pancakes and hash brown. A friend once had the French toasts, they’re pretty massive and very sweet. Anyway, everything anyone ever tried was great.
Good thing, they also have Brunch cocktails, classical Bloody Mary but a also a nice grapefruit margarita. And for this great experience, you don’t even have to spend too much money.
